Berries!!!!This is a bumper year for berries of all kinds. I bought sweet and tart red currents last week from Black Duck Cidery at The Ithaca Farmers Market and made a no bake custard pie. Click the Farmers Market link for the recipe.I also tasted mulberries for the first time. Wow!!! Sweet and delicious. I definitely need some more of those to add to my summer berry jam collection. I didn't try them, but saw that there's a new farmer at The Ithaca Farmers Market with Juneberries. This may be the last weekend for them, if you go by their name. This is also the last picking I will be getting out of my rhubarb. So if you love rhubarb, like we do, get over to the market and buy what may be the last of the season, since I've heard you shouldn't pick it after July 4th., which is Monday. Remember to visit us in booth 6. I'll be there both days. See you this weekend!
Small business rocks!Are you staying in Ithaca? You have to check out Stonebend farm. It's right up the road Upper Treman Park.There's local beer and some very delicious wood fired pizza all made fresh with local everything.
